CES Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

On July 1, the Centre d'Économie de la Sorbonne (CES) celebrated its 20th anniversary!

It was a wonderful celebration, marked by many memorable moments:
🔹 Inspiring testimonials from those who have shaped the Centre's history: former directors, representatives of our partner institutions, faculty members, PhD students, and administrative staff.
🔹 A fascinating panel discussion featuring Clément Carbonnier, Antoine Mandel, Annie Cot, Nicolas Jacquemet, and Jézabel Couppey-Soubeyran, moderated by Aliette Hovine (France Culture).
🔹 Outstanding "My Thesis in 180 Seconds" presentations by our PhD students.
🔹 And to conclude the celebration, a beautiful chamber music concert for piano, violin, and cello.

Here are just a few of the quotes that captured the spirit of the day:
💬 "The CES has played a vital role in bringing people together, building connections, and creating a true community." — Christian de Boissieu
💬 "The CES is a demanding, dynamic, and stimulating place—an outstanding research environment." — Martine Ahmed-Chaouch
💬 "A very stimulating and international environment, where I could learn a lot." — Lorenzo Bastianello
💬 "The Sorbonne brand is a passport to many international opportunities." — Salim Dehmej
💬 "The CES is a bit like a railway map: everything leads to Paris. Likewise, for economists in French universities, there is almost always a stage at the CES. The CES is the home of economists and a crossroads for French economics." — Michaël Zemmour
💬 "The CES is an ideal place for intellectuals—a national leader with an international reputation." — Ngoc-Sang Pham
💬 "In one word, the CES stands for high-quality research and good spirits." — Josselin Thuilliez

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this anniversary such a warm and memorable occasion through their presence, contributions, and personal reflections.

🎂 Happy 20th Anniversary to the Centre d'Économie de la Sorbonne!
