Behavioral Sciences
Axis 1. Decision-Making, Incentives and Social Preferences
We study how individuals and groups make decisions under risk, uncertainty, and imperfect information, and how incentives shape choices. Our research explores honesty, tax compliance, redistribution, cooperation, and strategic interaction, with a focus on how beliefs, confidence, and motivated reasoning influence behavior.
Axis 2. Experimental and Interdisciplinary Approaches to Behavior
We combine tools from economics and psychology to uncover the cognitive and social mechanisms behind decision-making. Using laboratory and field experiments, we investigate identity, gender stereotypes, communication, memory, and other behavioral drivers, while also advancing experimental methods and measurement tools.
Axis 3. Institutions, Inequality and Public Policy
Our work applies these insights to real-world issues. We examine education, health, demography, social mobility, discrimination, and organizational decision-making to inform the design of more effective public policies and better understand institutional change.
